Colors that dance hand-in-hand with Green
According to Erika Woelfel, VP of Color and creative services, she states how the 60-30-10 rule can help pair colors to keep hues balanced throughout the space. How does the 60-30-10 rule help? Consider the 60% for the dominant color more than likely this will be the color on the walls, the 30% will be for furniture, rugs, curtains, and 10% for an accent or focal point such as throw pillows, artwork, or vases.
Now onto considering what colors work best with green.
Neutral Tones- Neutral tones allow to create a peaceful and tranquil interior. Consider for accents using natural textures such as wood flooring, or grey marble, or quartz countertops, accents.
Pinks- To create a more playful atmosphere considering adding hints of pink in decor such as bedding, vases, flowers, tapestries, or throw pillows. Use soft, pastel pink hues.
Red- Add a pop of red to green interiors. Since red is complimentary to green on the color wheel, it is no surprise that red and green compliment each other.
50 Shades of Green- Creating a monochromatic color scheme for an interior can seem challenging, but consider adding darker shades of green to create depth to a space, or lighter shades of green to freshen up the room.
Purples and blues- Purples and blues are considered cool tones, so pairing them with green helps to create a moody and dramatic effect. Consider the fact that both purple and blue represent royalty. Add some gold for accents when pairing green with purple or blue.
